Madison, WI is a college town, chock full of precious coffee shops and self-conscious activism. It also has about the best urban bike system I’ve seen. One can bike just about anywhere in the city. My hometown of Columbus likes to call itself bike friendly, but there is simply no comparison. I had a ball tooling around town. Madison is bisected by lakes, and pretty homes filled with blooming flower gardens.

Being in Madison in the summer reminds me of the song from Grease “Summer Nights,” about the brevity of a summer romance. Biking along sparkling lakes with blue skies and passing beautiful college students basking in outdoor cafe seating, it’s easy to fall in love. I wonder if I’d love it so much in February?
